In my culture (im Ethiopian-Swedish-American) we have this thing where if you're eating and the stranger next to you isnt, you offer and say "shall we eat?" its not just a polite question, its a real one. because you simply dont start a meal without asking if the next person would like to share it with you.
this is just pathetic. shame on them.
