Water drop cake

I have to try this desert! It's called mizu shingen mochi also known as water drop cake
Its a rice cake dessert :)
It “has a pleasant natural sweetness” and “goes incredibly smoothly down your throat,” according to a tweet translated by the Asian culture site Rocket News 24.
The dessert is reportedly made with water from the Japanese Alps, and has a texture so delicate that after spending 30 minutes at room temperature, it disintegrates entirely!

I'm enjoying my blond look right now! It took many sessions to get it to this shade and it's just  great for the summer! a wonderful light warm color for this beautiful weather but I was thinking.... where do i go with my hair color come winter? I bore easily. so there needs to be a plan.
I discussed it with my bestie (Rick who happens to be renowned hair colorist and owner of Patrick melville salon in NYC) and we're in agreement. Winter is the perfect time to go..... RED! 
We're gonna change the hair, play with some hair cut styles (keeping the length tho)
There are SO many shades of it to play with it would be impossible for me to get bored! I could update my look every other week!!!! I'm so excited. Red hair is going to look so gorgeous with my skin color!!!

Ice cream!

Omg you guys, it was SO delicious!!!
I made Vegan Banana/Vanilla  Ice Cream from scratch! I used 1 banana, fresh vanilla bean and I'm just overjoyed it was a success since Ice cream is something I don't want to give up.
I made caramel sauce from scratch as well and enjoyed the delicious healthy dessert while binge watching 'Orange is the new black'.
uggh i'm already at episode 8. When is season 3 coming again? need more ORANGE!

warning, spoilers in this post.

This movie hurt my soul. I first saw it when I was very little...maybe 9 years old. That was probably a mistake since I'm quite sure I got overwhelmed and ultimately so confused by the intensity of it - I didn't know how to emotionally process what I was watching. grown ups tried to hide these kinds of movies from me but I always found a way. I've always been too curious for my own good. human behavior in all it's forms fascinated me! I loved mysteries in particular and was always entertained by a good old 'whodunnit' movie! Alfred Hitchcock movies were my favorites! 'Dinner with Andre'  'Frankie and Johnnie' ugggh boy did I want me some Al Pacino then! that dude was sexy in that movie. still is! lol

'L'ultimo Baccio' is a beautiful Italian movie I highly recommend. 'Sleepers' kept me from sleeping for days. that movie was gut wrenching and painful to watch. I hate seeing people suffer and this movie had plenty of suffering in it. children nonetheless!

Back to  ONCE WERE WARRIORS ..I've seen it a few times since but just thinking of the movie immediately reminds me of that scene where Jake beats his wife then rapes her.
as a kid I remember watching that scene mortified that a man would unleash such rage at a woman...at his wife. while their poor children listened he mercilessly beat their mother into oblivion.
We're talking punches, banging her against the walls, breaking a mirror with her face, kicks to her belly when she fell to the floor...he then rips of her clothes as her throws her on the bed. we get a glimpse of her bloodied face before he rips of his own shirt yelling 'you do AS YOU'RE TOLD' before proceeding to rape her. the dude went berserk on her in that scene and all that...because she refused to cook for his friend. The same friend that would later rape their 13 year old daughter who would kill herself  as a result of the rape. I felt so....sad. so helpless as a kid. This man terrorized his family and somehow the love between them was so strong...you get kinda effed up watching it. The impact war and violence has had on us as people manifests itself in so many ways. To have such violent tendencies towards your own family is the most unnatural thing in the world as it is our instinct to protect our blood. our family.

I'm ready to watch it again. to see what else I can learn from it.

The Mothman prophecies

We love dark movies and this particular one came back to me when I was in the sub.
I knew of 'The Mothman' before seeing the movie....The winged headless creature with two red eyes in the chest area that scared the life out of people in the mid 60's in point pleasant, west Virginia. I'm so into this stuff you'd be shocked how much I know on the topic. All I did at one point in my teens was come home and finish 2-3 books a day on things like this.

The movie differs a great deal from the book by John A.Keel although it's based...well inspired by it.
I did a lot of research Indrid Cold in particular after seeing the movie. I got attached to the name...I found it so intriguing and enchanting......Indrid Cold. what a  name.
Anyway, watching it again tomorrow. can't wait

News

This is called  the 'Standing bow' pose. I need to work on locking that leg! I feel SO close some days then other days...not so much. as Bikram says 'Yoga never fails to reward honest effort' so it's about going back and trying harder! in other news, I'm SO excited about finally signing up for Seido Karate!!! I got  a red belt in Taekwondo in my teens (haven't practiced in YEARS though) and I've always wanted to give Karate a try. now just felt right to take that step...I'm ready for that discipline in my life.  I met a 65 year old woman today in Bikram Yoga class that had a body most 20 year olds would KILL for. she's getting a hip replacement later this year due to some injury and her docs expect her to make a full recovery. She plans on going right back to lifting weight, doing yoga and staying every bit as active as before. I left so inspired and high on life. What a woman! Love your body, love yourself! She did. and it's making all the difference now that her body is going through this :) I'm going to make myself SO strong!
