Film --The Grand Budapest Hotel

This movie is one of the best I've seen in years! It reminded me of Benny Hill and Monty Python... maybe even the Marx brothers type of humor at times. Ralph Fiennes does a wonderful job as the insecure, vain and extremely narcissistic concierge Gustave H (who sleeps with all the rich elderly women that stay at the hotel who in return shower him with presents..) that ends up having to team up with a young and new employee at the hotel,  'Zero' (played by Tony Revolori) at the Grand Budapest Hotel to prove his innocence after he is accused of murder.
My goodness, Ralph Fiennes and Tony Revolori together =perfection! I was laughing 90% of the time, every actor in this movie was cast so well and they shined in their scenes. Honestly it's just one of those movies where everything clicked.
In contrast to It's sophisticated humor, the movie has a very dark/sad undertone taking place in the fictitious republic of Zubrowka (Europe) in 1932  touching on how the world changed as WWII approached (1939) with increasing Military presence at every turn harassing and persecuting people.
Wes Anderson who's written/directed films like The Royal Tenenbaums wrote and directed this gem as well and did a marvelous job. I highly recommend this movie - I'm definitely going to see it again!

a very small blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance by George Cloony during a shootout scene taking place at the hotel towards the end of the film!
