Summer cold, Bikram, Sfactor !!!

so Bikram yoga yesterday was such a great decision. I had skipped a few days because I was fighting this terrible summer cold so I didnt wanna spread my germs around lol BUT also, I didn't know if I could physically do it.
But I decided to give it a go yesterday. My chest & throat was hurting from all the coughing I'd been doing and I just knew if I got through the 90 minutes, id feel better....and I DID. not only did I get through it, It was actually easy. I was expecting to have to rest through some poses but I was able to do all of them, time flew...it was wonderful. I got home and slept like a baby! so that was nice.
My girl Amanda is a fantastic Bikram Yoga teacher, I was glad I made it to her class. She is so calming and sweet. To be honest, the entire staff at http://www.bikramyoganyc.com/ Upperwest  are amazing. I haven't tried the other locations yet since this studio is most convenient for me but i've only heard positive things about the staff in the other ones as well. Anyway, Amanda is now actually also my Piano Teacher which I am over the moon about. I've had a hard time finding a Piano teacher in NYC so I was so happy when she mentioned that she teaches. All around great decision to visit bikramville yesterday lol :)

I start SFactor Pole dance workout on the 26th- Im very excited about that! I did my intro class a few weeks ago and it was great. they teach you everything from doing lap dances for your baby, all kinds of moves on and off the pole. It is a WORKOUT.
Its such a clean, professional environment...I was impressed. I can't wait to start! only a few more days too go :)

Stopped by this gorgeous Itailan store a few doors down from the Yoga studio and picked up some beautiful dresses for a photoshoot!

try hot tea before class!

in Ethiopia (where its really hot times....a million)  I remember watching people constantly drinking hot tea to deal with the heat.  the thing is, It actually helps your body cool down. people in most countries in africa and other hot countries do it all the time.

They offer free green tea at the studio so the other day I took a cup of hot tea and went upstairs to the Yoga room.

I didn't have a sip of cold water until maybe 40 minutes into the session. After the session was over   I finished my bottle of cold water, took a hot shower and had green tea on my way out.  It made such a huge difference. So I did it again the next day:)

Its not for everyone but I definitely recommend you at least give it a try. I got an Article  here  you can read on it. Who knows, It might work for you too!
